Rachael Curtis

M.C., RCC (she & her)

Warm greetings! I’m Rachael Curtis. As a clinical counsellor, I work with adults of all ages, backgrounds, and identities, offering a person-centred, compassion-focused, collaborative space for healing and self-discovery.

Empathetic support is central to what I offer, to foster understanding of very real and very human experiences such as anxiety, depression, grief and loss, emotional regulation, chronic pain, injuries, identity issues, life transitions, adverse religious experiences, and childhood trauma.

I understand my role as a compassionate witness and a warm, empathetic presence. My goal as your counsellor is to co-create an authentic and transparent connection that, over time, may come to feel safe so you may process life’s challenges. It is not necessarily about what we do in a session together, but how we are together. That being said, I believe action is an important element in healing and any kind of change process. My background in teaching and life coaching influences and complements my counselling practice, expanding the ways in which I work. I am an active participant in the counselling space, exploring and engaging to focus in on your experience, and intentionally allowing for spaces of silence and the full expression of emotions.

My integrative approach is inspired by Internal Family Systems (IFS) with influences from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), and Narrative Therapy. My work is trauma-informed with Feminist, person-centred, and existential approaches interwoven.

As I am passionate about providing ethical and effective counselling services, I continue my learning through relevant research, professional development, and collaboration with other counselling professionals. I look forward to walking alongside you as you embark on your counselling journey.
